The McCain Campaign: Raising Stupid to an Art Form

HT to Huffington Post for breaking this story this afternoon…

Sen. McCain has chosen someone to run his presidential transition team… and it’s a lobbyist (I know, ‘shocked’, aren’t you…) that once help lobby on behalf of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein (I am shocked and app—no I’m not… nothing, no matter how insanely stupid it is, that this campaign does anymore shocks me…)

From HP;

“The Washington lobbyist John McCain has named to head his presidential transition team aided an influence effort on behalf of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein to ease international sanctions against his regime. […] The two lobbyists who McCain aide William Timmons worked closely with over a five year period on the lobbying campaign later either pleaded guilty to or were convicted of federal criminal charges that they had acted as unregistered agents of Saddam Hussein's government.”

I, personally, think this raises some SERIOUS questions about McCain's judgment (a term I use loosely).

McCain attacks Washington DC and its corruption and lobbyists while simultaneously attacking Obama for “palling around with terrorists” and then he pulls out this all-in-one proof of his hypocrisy.

More importantly it concerns me that someone who was soooo close to Saddam Hussein and helped look out for Hussein’s interests might actually have a major role in filling a McCain cabinet… and we can’t have that.

The Only possiBle candidAte to vote for is pretty daMn clear if you Ask me… and Because of thIs, we neeD to gEt out and vote on ElectioN Day…
