Another Monday, another week of the Bush lame-duck tour…
- As expected, Ralph Nader announced his third party candidacy this past weekend… I would say more, but I don’t trust myself…
- Howard Dean is not letting Sen. McCain get out of this campaign financing issue, saying that the gop frontrunner is trying to skirt campaign finance laws by trying to opt out of public financing for his primary campaign. Dean’s concerns echo those made last week by FEC Chairman David Mason. (the whole issue is that McCain has already used the prospect of the nearly $6 million in federal matching funds to obtain automatic ballot access in every state… and now to say that he’s not going to claim the money is a cop-out, and I hope the FEC calls him on it…)
- Sen. Clinton’s campaign is getting more desperate. I’ll have more on the latest example later…
- A new Ohio poll_shows Sen. Clinton holding an eight-percentage-point advantage over Sen. Obama heading into next Tuesday’s primary…
- Sen. McCain’s people are still whining about the NY Times article…
- The Bush(whacked) Administration said over the weekend that “wiretaps will resume under the current law” for the time being as “telecommunications companies have agreed to cooperate ‘for the time being’ with spy agencies’ wiretaps.” (Lovely…)
- Mike Huckabee appeared on SNL this past weekend, and didn’t get the hint when it was time to leave. (Seriously, you don't think a Huckabee staffer was on the sides waving his arms trying to get the man off the set?)
- And have we mentioned? That Methodist University in Dallas is officially the future home of the George W. Bush presidential library? (What else can be said other than we’ll have a library full of Where’s Waldo, Choose-Your-Own-Adventure and sticker books, I can hardly wait…)
