Hat tip to a new a blogroller, Upper Left, for finding this truly excellent question from John Nichols of The Nation: “The question for Democratic voters is this: Do they want to replace Bush with someone who is acceptable to the same people who gave us Bush? Or do they want a real change?”
Before you answer, think about this; if the only measure is money, then the same lobbyists and interest groups that defined the Bush era will define the post-Bush era as well, regardless if the next president is a Democrat or a republican. If your goal is to truly end the Bush era of misdeed, miscalculation, cronyism and the like and to set a brand spanking new course, then grassroots Democrats must look beyond the money and toward the ideals and idea primary…
