The State of the Union is tonight… anyone have a SOTU drinking game to share?
- I don’t know what I’m happier about, the fact that tonight is Bush’s final SOTU or that he’s such a lame duck, no one will be listening… though I’m sure that won’t prevent him from trying to start something with Iran…
- On January 28, 1986, the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded 73 seconds after liftoff, killing all seven crewmembers, including teacher Christa McAuliffe. I was in grade school, getting ready for an incredibly early lunch period when I heard the news… and to this day I still get queasy when I remember the moment that what just happened has truly sunk in…
- The Senate vote on whether or not to cut off debate about reauthorizing FISA is slated for this afternoon… Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) is working against the motion, and with republicans not having the 60 votes needed to end the discussion, debate should continue… (maybe Democracy isn’t dead in the Senate…)
- Then again…
- The House is expected to pass the $150 billion economic stimulus package tomorrow, with the Senate expected to vote on it later this week. (Wow, such bi-partisanship, I’m sure it has absolutely nothing to do with it being an election year… right??)
More crack journalism from CNN; every delegate counts in race to conventions… (well duhhhhhh) - In case you hadn’t heard, Sen. Obama vaporized Sen. Clinton at Saturday’s South Carolina primary, winning considerable support from all demographics…
- Mike Huckabee believes there were WMD’s in Iraq… one more reason to not vote for the man…
- The republican primary is in Florida tomorrow. That would be the state that Giuliani initially, when he was ahead in the polls, said would make or break his campaign…now that he’s running third, he’s changed his tune.
- And have we mentioned? That Sen. McCain is promising more wars? While speaking with Florida voters McCain said; “It's a tough war we're in. It's not going to be over right away. There's going to be other wars.” (McCain is Good News Happy Guy…)
