Today is the anniversary of D-Day & the Battle of Normandy, still, 63 years later, the largest invasion from the sea ever mounted with more than three million men crossing the Channel to take part in Operation Overlord, an operation that helped turn the tide in the European theater.
Operation Overlord still remains the largest seaborne invasion in history, involving almost three million troops crossing the English Channel from England to Normandy, in what was then German-occupied France.
We salute all that took part in and lost their lives in this historic and world-changing battle...
