The shuttle should have been scuttled on the drawing boards. Original costs were projected 160 times less than what they have been (This is typical of all government cost projections). The whole design of attaching a ship to two booster rockets was absurd. NASA is a complete joke. We now have to pay the Russians to put our people in space as we have not put a single person in space ourselves for two year now. A typical government program.
