I know Wednesday is around here somewhere… oh, well; here’s Thursday’s...
- Secretary of Defense Robert Gates has asked Congress to approve an additional $42.3 billion for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan (yeah, right… I’m sure some of it will go towards that ‘forgotten war’). With this amount, the 2008 war funding request has hit $190 billion… (Mind-boggling, isn’t it?)
- A federal judge has ruled that portions of the Patriot Act are unconstitutional… Bush(whacked) Administration fear-mongering to start in 5…4…3… there we go…
- The Democratic presidential candidates held another debate last night… and this time all attacks were focused primarily on so-called “frontrunner” Hillary Clinton (D-NY). Though former Sen. Gravel (D-AK) had the most inane statement of the night, saying that he thinks the other candidates who are members of Congress should suspend their campaigns, go to Washington and demand daily votes to end the war in Iraq… (Wouldn’t that be convenient? And getting rid of his competition STILL wouldn’t help his campaign…)
- Just when you thought the story died… Sen. Craig brings it back… almost as if he wants his name in the spotlight…
- Burmese police are attacking monks and Burmese bloggers are using the internet to get around the governments censorship of the attacking…
- And have we mentioned? That, as he was bragging about the success of his centerpiece education initiative, “President” Bush mangled the English-language once again? (I know, you’re shocked). Said Bush; “As yesterday's positive report card shows, childrens do learn when standards are high and results are measured.” (Well, I guess he finally answered his infamous campaign question of “Is our children learning”…)
