It’s Monday… oh boy...
- “President” Bush has selected his newest crony… but, at first blush, he doesn’t look to be a crony like early favorite Theodore Olson… Bush has instead named retired federal judge Michael Mukasey as his attorney general nominee… Democrats are pleased with the choice, some republicans aren’t, but considering how little political influence Bush has right now, he couldn’t go too far right or the confirmation hearing would have been a flame-throwing riot… stay tuned…
- There’s a war being waged about correct and proper information on the 2008 presidential candidates… and the battleground is Wikipedia… it’s not news; it’s the Washington Post…
- Help Wanted: warehouse workers to work ten hours a day, six days a week, including holidays in a tropical locale with a chance to meet interesting people… call Call 1-800-555-BDAD.
- In his new book, The Age of Turbulence, former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan states; “I am saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows. The Iraq war is largely about oil.” (For someone of Greenspan’s stature and knowledge to say this is uplifting… it’s just to bad he didn’t say so earlier when he was in a position that saw time stop when he opened his mouth…)
- The U.S. ambassador to Iraq, Ryan “What a bunch of” Crocker, sent a memo to the State Department as he wants to expedite the Iraqi refugee process. As it stands now, it could take up to two years for an Iraqi refugee that was referred by the U.N. to gain refuge in the US. Not surprisingly, Bush(whacked) Administration officials immediately dispute Crocker’s claims…
- And have we mentioned? That one of the largest private security firms working in Iraq is about to lose their license? Days after employees of Blackwater USA were involved in a gun fight that killed 8 Iraqi civilians, Iraq’s Interior Ministry has withdrawn the license of the firm and plans to prosecute the individuals involved.
