The Friday ‘BushWhack’ing

It’s Friday… ‘nuff said.

• The House passed a bill that called for a withdrawal of US troops from Iraq by . Regardless of the failures in the Iraq war that are clear to everyone that doesn’t have rose-colored glasses on (Bush, Lieberman, McCain, etc), Bush has promised to veto it with his veto crayon the moment it crosses his desk… unless it’s ‘nap-nap time’, than it will have to wait…
• Not taking her snubbing of them sitting down, the House is considering initiating contempt charges against Harriet Miers… (I say nail her ass to the wall… and then follow that by doing the same to Taylor, Rove, Fielding, Bush, Cheney… well, you get the idea)
• As if we needed more proof that “President” Bush just doesn’t get it… when asked yesterday about Scooter Libby’s pardon, Bush said his commuting of the sentence was “fair.” (Uh George, it wasn’t… at least not according to every legal scholar and/or attorney in this country… both Democrat and republican. It’s time you stop listening to those voices in your head Dubya)
• Following in their tradition of nominating people who follow orders like a trained poodle, the Bush(whacked) Administration’s nominee for Surgeon General is facing a tough confirmation battle on Capitol Hill… and, surprise-surprise, he’s trying to distance himself from a paper he wrote earlier in his career about homosexuality… (While his excuses for the paper do make sense, I still think it’s a cop-out and once confirmed he will do whatever his masters bosses tell him to do…)
• And have we mentioned? That another poll came out yesterday from Harris that shows “President” Bush’s approval rating sitting at a paltry 26%. Cheney’s approval rating is just 21%… this truly is the ‘Presidency of Mediocrity’®
