Don’t say that we and many thousands of others didn’t warn you!

Who would’ve thunk it? What are the odds that once Samuel Alito was comfirmed and seated on the Supreme Court, that an abortion case would make it’s way so quickly to the step of the SCOTUS? (I’m shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!)

What is even more of a surprise is that a sitting Justice would send a letter of thanks to the head of a special interest group. Justice Alito sent a personal note of thanks to James Dobson (or should we say Herr Dobson…) founder of the ultra-conservative group, Focus on the Family. James read the note on his radio show, here is the text:

Dear Dr. Dobson:

This is just a short note to express my heartfelt thanks to you and the entire staff of Focus on the Family for your help and support during the past few challenging months.

I would also greatly appreciate it if you would convey my appreciation to the good people from all parts of the country who wrote to tell me that they were praying for me and for my family during this period.

As I said when I spoke at my formal investiture at the White House last week, the prayers of so many people from around the country were a palpable and powerful force.

As long as I serve on the Supreme Court I will keep in mind the trust that has been placed in me.

I hope that we'll have the opportunity to meet personally at some point in the future.

In the meantime my entire family and I hope that you and the Focus on the Family staff know how we appreciate all that you have done.

Sincerely yours,
Samuel Alito

Nice, why not put a post script that says 'by the way; go ahead and start sending the abortion cases, let’s overturn Roe V Wade, and let me know if there is anything else that die hard conservatives would like overturned'.

I remember when Bush first announced he was running for the presidency in 2000, I said to co-workers, friends and family at that time “If he does to America what he did to the state of Texas we are all screwed”

Like I said before folks, don’t say I, and many others, didn’t warn you.
